THE VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY 1, 2, & 3


The Volleyball Academies are designed to assist players in developing the full potential of their individual skills through a proven system of instruction. Most of the daily practice is spent on improving basic skills and developing advanced techniques. All the basic skills of passing, serving, attacking, blocking, setting, individual defense, and game play are covered. Every player at camp will have the chance to learn and improve every skill at their appropriate level with focused instruction from our experienced Indiana Volleyball Training staff, making the all-skills camp one of the best experiences from beginners to advanced players. This camp is designed for middle school and high school players who wish to improve and excel in their leagues, clubs, school, and potential various collegiate levels.

Camps may use a combination of Wilkinson Hall, Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, and/or the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington. Wilkinson Hall is equipped with TeraFlex flooring and Wilkinson Hall, Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, and the SRSC are all air-conditioned. Overnight campers will stay in air-conditioned dorms on campus. Both commuting and overnight campers will have access to one of the newest dining halls on campus, McNutt Dining Hall. McNutt has nine different dining stations—one of which is Free From IX, where each menu item is free from the nine most common food allergens.

Schedule and check-in times are subject to change. Below is a tentative outline for each camp schedule. Please note that check in for Academy 1 on Day 1 will be 5-6:30 pm at the dorms for overnight campers and 6:30-6:50 pm at Wilkinson Hall for commuter campers. Check in for Academy 2 & 3 on Day 1 will be 12-1:30 pm at the dorms for overnight campers and 1:30-1:50 pm at Wilkinson Hall for commuter campers.

  • Registration Requirements: All required medical paperwork and waiver forms need to be completed.
  • Both roommates must list each other during registration in order to guarantee their roommate. Triples are not provided.

  • Location & Parking: Wilkinson Hall, 1151 E 17th St., Bloomington, IN 47408. Parking is available in all spots surrounding Wilkinson Hall & Historic Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, which we have provided maps and directions to. You will not need a parking pass. Make sure to check the location listed as camp locations vary.

Overnight Campers What To Bring:

  • Bedding for a Twin Sized Bed (Twin XL is NOT required).
  • Enough comfortable workout clothes for 7 volleyball sessions (shorts, t-shirts, comfortable gym shoes, knee pads).
  • Pajamas
  • Bathroom Essentials (Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Shampoo, etc.)
  • Towel to Shower
  • Snacks (We will eat dinner before the last session so you may be hungry).
  • Cash for Pizza/Snacks/Gatorade and the Camp Store in the dorms after the last training session.
    • It will be $15 to replace your room key/meal card if you lose that during the duration of camp.
All Campers Packing List:

  • Water Bottle (We will have Gatorade onsite for you).
  • Comfortable shoes for time outside the gym.
  • Required Release Forms
  • Self-Medication Form if you will be taking medication during camp.

Indiana Volleyball Training Camps & Clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

Camps are open to both boys and girls, and boys should expect to play on a net set to women’s height.
